Sahara Sutter spent years working in healthcare, the kind of work that teaches you how rarely people say what they mean. The space between what someone tells you and what they carry is where she learned to listen. That habit followed her into the world, through decades of travel and into the streets of DeLand, Florida, a town she has called home for over thirty years.

DeLand gave her the setting for both her novels but something harder to name too. The old fairgrounds, the houses along the Boulevard that look respectable from the curb. Every town keeps its secrets, and Sahara has always been more interested in what is underneath than what is on display.

She has long believed science and spirituality are not opposites but conversation partners, and that the most extraordinary lives belong to people who never expected anyone to write them down. That conviction runs through everything she writes. Her heroes are not kings or generals. They are the quietly resilient, the overlooked, the ones carrying more than anyone around them ever knew.
